Did you know...General Douglas MacArthur was a Freemason. Most Worshipful Brother Samuel Hawthorne, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines exercised his prerogative to make a "Mason at sight" on January 17, 1936. After being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, Douglas
MacArthur affiliated with Manila Lodge No.1 and on March 13th joined
the Scottish Rite. On October 19, 1937, he was elected Knight Commander
Court of Honor, and on December 8, 1947, he was coroneted Honorary
33rd Degree at the American Embassy in Tokyo. He became a life
member of the Nile Shrine Temple in Seattle, Washington. |
The VA CenterAs a function of Masonic Services, we assist veterans getting to chapel at the VA Center. Brothers, we need more volunteers to help with this. Usually this is the first Sunday of each month from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Directions We are in building 320 on Ohio Ave From Gettysburg Ave:Enter main gate on Tennessee Ave, go left on Pennsylvania, right on Kentucky, left on Ohio (1st cross street). 320 is building on left. From Liscum Ave: Enter gate near Rt. 35 (may be the only gate open), follow drive to Iowa St, turn right on Iowa and go all the way to the end, turn left on Ohio. 320 is building on right.
